What is Kith + Kin?
Kith + Kin is a play and gathering space for kids and their grown-ups in the Brewerytown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Our mission is to provide a thoughtful space that supports healthy childhood development and parenthood in the early years. Our child-led play space, educational classes, and support groups provide an environment for connection, growth, and empowerment. In this way, Kith + Kin supports thriving families that strengthen the whole community.
What does Kith + Kin mean?
In short, kith and kin means friends, neighbors, and relatives!
What age range does your space serve?
Our play equipment and toys are designed for little ones from 0-5, but older siblings and friends are welcome to play too!
Can I just drop in for the day?
Yes! Our drop-in rate covers the whole day, you can leave and come back as much as you want for the day of purchase.
Can another adult accompany my child using my membership card?
Yes! Our memberships cover the child/children of the family, so any adult can accompany them, just give us the child’s name at the welcome desk.
Can I take classes and/or workshops even if I’m not a member?
Yes! No membership is required for classes or workshops, but just so you know, there are discounts for classes IF you are a member.
What if my child is sick?
We have a lot of children through our door daily. In an effort to decrease the spread of illness, please keep your child home if they are symptomatic or experiencing a fever. Please alert our staff if your child comes down with anything highly contagious so we can properly sanitize.
We ask that kids and adults please leave shoes in cubbies by the front door and enjoy their play in socks or bare feet.
We ask that all of our guests be mindful of our friends with food allergies and keep food to designated areas i.e. the cafe. Anti-bacterial wipes are provided throughout the space to wipe down surfaces and toys at your discretion.
How we stay clean
In an effort to be friendly to our bodies and environment, we use natural cleaning products for daily cleaning of our space. Anti-bacterial wipes are available for the wiping down of toys, surfaces, and hands as this further decreases the spread of germs and allergen exposure.
Do you have a parking lot?
We do not have a parking lot. Please use street parking, which is free. In addition, there are several public transit routes that are within close walking distance to our space, including the 15 trolley, and 7, 48, and 32 bus routes.
Is the space handicap accessible?
Yes! Our Handicap lift accommodates guests who use a wheelchair, by providing easy access to our mezzanine level.
What are your holiday/inclement weather hours of operation?
We are generally open 7 days a week, but we will be closed for all major holidays. In the condition of inclement weather, we will determine safety for play, and close if need be. We will announce this on our social media accounts as soon as we make the call.
